I remember in elementary and middle school eating so many peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that I said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I will not eat any more! Of course when you are a broke college student some sacrifices must be made. I decided to bust out the good ol' fashioned PB&J. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. In fact I ate two of them! Well enjoying these not so bad sandwiches I had an idea. Why not photograph this amazing lunch of mine. So I decided to have a third PB&J and take a picture.
My First Internship!
I don't know how many of you all know this, but for the past 11 weeks I have been interning for a man named Brad Kirby, who is a professional Dallas food photographer. I was very nervous about my first internship, but looking back on it now I have no idea why I was so nervous.
He taught me how to think outside of the box when it comes to photographing. He helped me engineer many shoots in order to photograph them in a creative way. Kirby also helped me make my first professional client call, which was very nerve racking for me!
Thank you for taking my under your wing and showing me what you know about the photography business. I will take what I learned and apply it to my career as a photographer for days to come.
"Big D Burgers" The First Gallery Show!
Have you ever felt like a celebrity? Well that is what my first gallery show felt like all we needed was a red carpet! I felt as though I was the center of attention and all of the hard work we all had put in paid off!
At first I was nervous because all day I was running late, but then I ended up coming at just the right time! Getting everything situated for the show that morning was a hassle and in the heat of it all I managed to pay rent!
Words can not express how I felt during my art show! I saw so many people that I have not seen in years! I'm so glad that Olive Garden catered the show! It was greatly appreciated! Also thank you Stacy Sims for donating drinks and finding the time out of your busy schedule to come take photos at the show! Thank you so much for everyone that came out and also special thanks to the people that helped make the day very special! There was a lot of love in the room. My series on burgers was just the start to my journey on location food photography.
