Hangin' with Hang Time

Hang Time is a Dallas-based quartet that creates an eclectic style of jazz.

I had a great time taking photographs of these four professionals. We lit up the studio with amazing music, including a cover by Bill Withers.

If you all would like to enjoy great music and amazing company check their up and coming gig at The Free Man Cajun Cafe on Sunday, May 1st at 3PM!

Feeling Inspired!

After experiencing the Jackson Pollock exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art I decided to tap into my inner artist. At Michael's there was a 48 x 60 in canvas on sale for $42! I was so excited about my purchase that I didn't realize that the canvas wouldn't fit in my car. Using the only resource I had; I ended up taping the canvas to my car. I had a glorious time driving down the access road as everyone honked at me like I was insane.

This morning I put on my "I'm going to get dirty" clothes, grabbed my head phones, and turned on my Spotify, so I can shuffle my Discover Weekly playlist.

After I found the perfect setting for my masterpiece I decided to paint. My results in my opinion were awesome.

Thank you Jackson Pollock for inspiring me not only as a photographer, but as a painter as well!

Jackson Pollock

Today I embarked on an incredible journey through the mind of Jackson Pollock.

At the Dallas Museum of Art they are displaying Jackson Pollock. This painter is known as the major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. Pollock's drip paintings explain his battle through alcoholism, which ultimately caused him his life.

"The modern artist is working with space and time, and expressing his feelings rather than illustrating." -Jackson Pollock

Overall going to the Jackson Pollock exhibition was life changing and everyone should experience this movement of art.
