Leakycon 2018

I had a witchin’ day at Leakycon! (Thank you Torri for the pun).

Leakycon, for those of you who don’t know it is a Harry Potter comic con. Want to show off how much of a crazy Harry Potter fan you are, come to Leakycon and meet people that are on the same broom as you! There was everything at Leakycon; from meeting celebrities from the movies to living your dreams as a quidditch player! People could even attend some of the most popular classes at Hogwarts! A LOT of people dressed up and for those who didn’t were considered muggles (non-magic folk).  If you were wondering what house I belong to; I am a very proud Hufflepuff! We are loyal, patient, and fair.

Several artists that are fans from the series showed their craft through jewelry, drawings/paintings, clothings, and many other different forms.

Though I am sad that I didn’t get any autographs, Leakycon was amazing and I cannot wait to see what the con has in store for next year. My personal suggestion would be add more interaction. For example in the room with Wizard’s Chest; instead of just talking about the ins and outs of the game also have many tables so people can learn how to play!

Until next year Leakycon!

The Tame Impala Show

In San Marcos, Texas, I ventured to a music festival called Float Fest, where I was able to see one of my favorite bands, Tame Impala, live for the first time. It was one of the GREATEST moments of my life and now when I hear their music I can’t help, but to get chills.  I wish I would have taken more photographs, but I chose to live in the moment.

At this festival we also had a chance to show some Texas hospitality (free tacos was an incentive) when a man asked for help moving his food trailer. He was skeptical at first because most of the people who offered to help were women and he said he already had 6 guys to help and couldn’t move it. To his surprise 4 women, including myself and 3 men ended up moving a large trailer so the food truck could get home. Don’t underestimate the POWER OF WOMEN (and a few men)!

Even though I had a few complaints about the Float Fest I still had an amazing time. It was the Tame Impala Show! The last thing I want to say is that even though I was upset that Glass Animals couldn’t make it I hope that the dummer is recovering well and I will see you guys next time! Also thanks Cold War Kids for taking their spot in the lineup. I know those were BIG shoes to fill.
