I’m sorry if the protests bother you. It is an inconvenient moment out of your day versus a lifetime of misery and pain for others.
DEI stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion. I am not sure how this program could be viewed as a threat, because it is a beautiful necessity. Diversity is a gift that some places do not get to experience and when I think about the “American Dream” I think of a place where we can all experience life in peace and harmony. Isn’t that what we all want? To not be in fear of living?
Seeing Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE, raid workplaces and schools is outrageous. How can it not break your heart seeing families being torn apart because they were searching for their piece of freedom. It does not make sense to tell people who do not look like you to “go back to your country” when the land was stolen to begin with.
On February 2, 2025 hundreds of people gathered at the City Hall of Dallas to let our voices be heard. We marched the streets of downtown chanting our grievances about the situation at hand. My heart goes out to the immigrants in this nation. I stand with you all.
