The time has come to show off my food photography skills! At the Gallery 8680 in Frisco, Texas on December the 5th from 6 PM- 9 PM I will be displaying a series of burger images called Big D Burgers. Big D Burgers is a series of photographs taken at both corporate and family owned restaurants in the Dallas metroplex. The images focus on the increasing amount and variety of burger establishments and this yielded the opportunity to experience the Dallas food scene. Food is a huge part of people’s everyday lives and it varies from place to place. This body of work signifies the local culture in the city of Dallas using burgers as the subject. One dish can be prepared in many different ways and it all depends on the region people are located in. Taking photographs on location was challenging, but worthwhile because it gave the food photography personality. Professionally, I want to become a traveling food photographer and this series allowed for the opportunity to be a Dallas food photographer. With these images of food, I hope to inspire people to experience the diversity of Dallas burgers, starting with traditional American food locally.
So in conclusion I would like everyone to come and show their support for me and my fellow photographers as we display the photography that expresses who we are.
